My take on voting:
If you are old enough to vote and to pay taxes, then you have earned the right to vote and be heard. If you are old enough to go to war then you deserve a voice. This is part of "earning your seat at the adults table." One might also say that these are the fruits of democracy, community inclusion and freedom of speech and the reason why we have a great country. Everyone has the right to vote, be heard and join the great discussion.
Special Thanks to those who serve in the Military. We are most grateful toward your particular dedication and service.
Voting makes the man on the street know that he is heard. Then he can tend to his particulars, and live as part and parcel of a great “machine.”
We know, our country is unlike any other. It is the most important and far reaching social experiment and development in the history of mankind. In voting, all deserve to share their views, all deserve to be heard. The most people are served and the gathering of a consensus and social contract should be paramount.
What serves the most people, serves the country. What serves this country serves the world. I often relate the turning point for adulthood as "Earning your seat at the adults table.”
Life in America is grandiose, we have privileges other's can only dream of. No, “the streets are NOT paved in gold.” Coming to America is often a dream. We, born here, cannot fully appreciate the simple right to vote, and the right to assemble and disagree publically and privately. In fact, we agree that it is OK to dissent, disagree and take issue.
Voting is our inclusion and our inclusion is the fulfillment of the great dream. Today that dream may be hard to realize, but whatever you wish, you can and will be, you can be what you earn the right to be.
May God continue to Bless America.
Educate, acknowledge, accept and listen carefully. The immigrant, the widow the orphan, these are best served here better than anywhere else.
The idea still remains that we are ”the melting pot” I often say. Our diversity is our strength, and our weakness is our diversity.
Rhetoric aside, human rights, womens rights and the concerns to those less fortunate are maintained by our community inclusion, our vote and our discourse.
Thank God we are safe and free in America.
