The Power of the People
The people loudly chanted.
In the city's public square.
Man and woman, young and old.
With faith and love and prayer.
Each day they kept arriving.
More were coming every hour.
They proved for all the world to see.
The people have the power.
The news had spread thoughout the world.
About the revolution.
The people, tired of their plight.
Together, found solution.
Their leader, they rejected.
His abuse they'd not allow.
They chanted to their leader.
'We don't want you here. Go now!"
They marched from all the little towns.
Every corner of their land.
United in their purpose.
Together, they took a stand.
Waving flags in unison.
For patriots, they all were.
They shouted to their leader.
'We will never be detered.'
Eventually, he had no choice.
The man was forced to leave.
The people proved that power.
Came to those who did believe.
The world then watched in wonder.
As the leader did succumb.
The day the people showed the world.
How many joined as one.
