There are a number of reasons that I feel that suicide is not a personal right.
First of all, there is the issue of what the Christians believe. God created these bodies. He made us and he alone is going to take us from this world. That is what the Christians believe mainly because murder is a sin. If one kills another human, he is a killer.. If you believe in Heaven and Hell, you will not want to sin, especially murder. Most Christians would be afraid that they would go to Hell for taking their own life. Killing the human that God created. That is the main issue with Christians and suicide. Also, according to the laws of our land, suicide is a crime. If you help someone take their own life, you should go to jail for murder. That is what you have done. Looking at it in that way it cannot be a personal right.
But let's look at this in another way. If there is someone who has been so distraught for months over some personal problems and they just want to die, they feel like they cannot take it anymore. What do you think? If they are so distraught that they could take a razor blade and slice their wrists, do you think they are really in their right mind? That is another issue. There was a man I read about, who took a knife and stabbed himself in the chest. That was after trying to cut his wrists. Is he really wanting to die? Or is he so upset because last month his wife divorced him and has custody of their children. He felt that he could not be a good father if he did not live with them so he wanted to just die. That was the story. That situation makes this subject have no right answer. This man had no choice because of his mental state of mind.
I find it hard to believe that someone who has been upset for a few months, and does something like this, is in their right mind. Do you think people who take their life because they are so distraught are in their right mind? Who, in their right mind would want to hurt their self? Who would want to leave this world and not see their children just because they were not living with them. Would they love them so much less that they thought the children would be better off if they were dead? And who in their right mind would want their children to know that they killed themselves? If someone is not in their right mind, how can you give them a choice? That would be like handing a razor blade to someone who is suicidal. We usually get help for those who are suicidal. Their temporarily sick. When
