A guide to the Beserker class in Borderlands (PS3)

Created on: February 08, 2011

Every game needs a class that can soak up damage whilst causing mayhem with enemies and the berserker is it in borderlands! The berserker in borderlands can be one of three things, a tank which takes damage and becomes the main target for enemies, the brawler who specialises into beating enemies to a bloody pulp with his giant fists and last but not least is blaster which focuses on explosives and rockets.

The main focus for a berserker is when to use your rage ability. When you activate it your screen becomes more focused and you stop using all weapons and resort to your fists meaning you have to get up close to punch enemies to do damage, another thing is your health starts to regenerate at a very fast pace which can be useful in various ways such as taking more damage or as a quick heal before jumping back into the fray with a machine gun or rocket launcher.

One of the other aspects to the berserker is to focus on one style either melee or ranged, if you distribute your points to much you end up a character which is not good at either which is never good, first we will focus on the melee fighter and this applies to the brawler and the tank class as both need to get in close and cause maximum damage whilst becoming the main target for the enemies.

Iron fist adds more damage for every punch you throw which is a great way to start off this class, it increases the damage output by 6% up to a maximum of 30% extra. Endless rage is another skill which increases your berserker rages time limit by 10% each level up to a maximum 50% which means you have another half a berserker rage to kill more enemies and do more damage for longer.

Heavy Handed increases the damage you do every time you kill an enemy for a few seconds by 12% each level which totals to a 60% damage boost. This is great seen as you are already killing enemies the damage boost really just improves on the job your character is doing already. Short fuse is good to take as it reduces the time it takes to go berserk again, each point takes 6 seconds off for a maximum of 30 seconds reduced wait time meaning you can berserk more often and get back to the battle in half the time!

Blood sport is great for tanking as each enemy you kill you in berserk you gain a 2% health boost up to a maximum of 10% which is great for keeping your health up as you will be the main focus of enemy fire.

Hardened is great for adding maximum health adding 12% every point to a total of a 60% boost in health and Safeguard increases
