She is on call, never leaves her job, and works until late with steadfast dedication. She falls asleep whenever she sits down, takes both the early and late shifts, and never gets a sick day. Please note that her paycheck is somewhere lost in the mail. However, the payment of hugs and kisses can keep her going for unexplained durations.  Putting aside a career and being the household organizer is not typically glamorous. In this chaotic environment, a stay at home mom’s guide for staying sane is essential.

*Count me in (be in it for the right reasons)

Upon taking a little bundle of joy home for the first time there are plans and expectations on the horizon. The careful planning to stay home while being a primary caregiver will most likely be filled with many surprises. The utter upheaval that comes from the dramatic changes will require lifestyle adjustments. There is no right or wrong answer regarding a decision to be a stay at home mom. The opportunities for a woman today present a varied array of options that can lead a mom into feeling a bit confused. A certain amount soul searching will provide the answer that determines if staying home is in your plan.

*Excursions and happenings

Getting out of the house can provide a necessary change of scenery. Certain times of the day warrant a change in location. A mom knows the points in the day when restlessness sets in for children and adults alike. Finding an alternative place to go during those times can bring an uplifting moment for all. Taking a walk, going to the park, or checking out the gym can provide excursions that can make it easier to get through the day.

*Carve out a niche

A stay at home mom can easily lack adult conversations. The whole entire day can exist around discussing the nuisances of potty training and how to get along with others. Stay at home moms benefit from carving out a niche that encompasses a strong support system. Finding friendships, hobbies, playgroups, and social circles will create a time for mom as well as the kids too. Spending time with another adult can be the best gift for a stay at home mom’s morale. A new perspective for the day will be attained by stepping away from the normal routines at the home.

*Mommy time out

Those splurges that are in the form of a mommy time out might not be easy to take. Taking a break may seem like an incomprehensible task at first. Babies and small children can have separation anxiety that makes it a stressful experience for mom
