Poetry: Facing life

THE FORGOTTEN

he sought for freedom within a cage

infested with violence, deceit, and quiet rage.

he was trying to be tough,

because he didn't know much,

but he knew enough.

life is tough.

yeah, so what?

nobody rescues me.

I abuse me.

no, no blade has raped my skin.

I just hold my feelings in.

I don't cry.

I get high.

but even then, I am aware....

life is tough.

she's just a pretty goth.

she's just a little lost.

she pretends to have all the answers.

darkness consumes her, like cancer.

but it's okay, because....

life is tough.

yeah, so what?

nobody rescues me.

I abuse me.

no blade has raped my skin, (lately)

I usually just hold my sorrow in.

I don't cry.

I get high.

but even then, I am aware....

life is tough.

how did I forget you?

I'm sorry I judged you.

sorry I ever upset you.

everyone forgot you.
