I believe in miracles not only because I have experienced it in my life and in the life of many people that had testified about it and I have been a witness to some of them but also because of the witness of nature around us. But to make it plain to those that doubt the existence of miracles it can be explained reasonably. The reason we marvel at miracles is because we live in a natural world that is decaying. This natural world is what we see and smell, hear, taste and touch. We see in our bodies how we progress for a little time but then start decaying and then we die. This is normal for us. When we see a sudden interruption of this process in reverse and we call it a miracle and it is.
There is a realm of the supernatural that is never decaying and it is where God and his angels live. For them the supernatural is normal. Life for them is like an ever-increasing river of living waters. Our first family, Adam and Eve, lived for a while in the Garden of Eden where there was the tree of life. Why was not such a tree outside the Garden is a mystery to me. Once they hit the outside world things changed from a supernatural life to a natural life where there were even natural disasters. What happened here? Why this disconnection. Now we are going to need miracles.
Craving for miracles is an instinct we human have inside of us because, as the Bible says, God had put eternity in the inside of us. Eternity is not natural. We don't see eternity happening around us. The bottom line behind the supernatural world is eternal and spiritual laws that rule the universe. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. {3} For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, {4} that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit”.(Romans 8:2-4 NKJV) There is the law of life and the law of death.
Our earth, our bodies were ruled by the authority of the law of life. God gave Adam spiritual authority over the earth and all the creation and also over his own body. The law of the spirit of life was in operation keeping everything functioning normally. Once Adam violated the law sin entered the world and the natural world appeared. The natural world still resembles the supernatural but it is just a reflection that is getting dimmer and dimmer unless we can get some supernatural intervention to keep us going until nature is redeemed. Romans 8:22-23 put it this way: "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23-And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body".
We can believe in miracles not only by our own instincts but we also can explain it through what the Bible reveals to us. We can bring part of that supernatural world to our own reality and live a miraculous life because Jesus Christ had opened the door again for us through faith and love.
