Utopia is a state of perfection that only exists in our minds. Because God had put a sense of eternity in our spirit is probable the reason we crave for it. Eternity in itself is a perfect model. However, our reality is that there is no such thing in our natural world. Our natural world is decaying. Everything decays around us. Of course, there is a supernatural world that is never decaying but as river of living waters is always expanding and a life giving momentum.
We have to understand that we are not anymore in the Garden of Eden. To understand the natural world all we need to understand what is a miracle. A miracle is a touch of the supernatural into the natural. We can have miracles as we learn how to step into the supernatural world. However, this is not a biblical study. I just want to make a point. Moses threw a stick on the ground that turned into a serpent but the Egyptians did the same. However, Moses serpent swallowed the Egyptians serpent. The point is that there is only one way we can add some perfection in our life and that is through God.
The Webster dictionary defines utopia as a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions. The Progressive Movement that started at the end of the 19th century was an attempt to cover for some imperfections in these above-mentioned areas. The instrument they used was government, not the Constitution, but government runs by politicians. The Constitution doesn't cover all the bases because we are imperfect human beings.
Freedom is the necessary space for the people to make mistake or to achieve virtue. So there is going to be either failures or achievements. There is going to be faith and fear among the people. There is going to be opportunities among the people to grow up in faith and abilities. Trying to eliminate this area of trial and error is an intrusion in God's area of work. Politicians that are handicapping people are committing a serious offense.
Progressivisms and liberals are making this mistake because of ignorance of God's purposes. Lyndon B. Johnson started his program on "War on Poverty" but the results were disastrous. Jesus said we are going to have the poor with us always. The poor is a starting point. We start everything in life in a poor condition and then we progress. Babies are underdeveloped and as years go by they progress. We have to discover our talents and abilities and we become better at them but never becoming
