Alcoholism
Alcoholics have the affecting urge to drink, helping them to reach a physical and psychological level of satisfaction.
The alcoholics are able to hide their addiction for many years, by means of putting out of sight the bottles. In addition by drinking types of alcohols, such as vodka, that keeps their breath from foul-smelling.
When does a drinker know that he is an alcoholic? It is when you do not acknowledge that they have a problem and strongly believe that drinking is merely a social behavior.
True alcoholics hide their habits. Nevertheless they cannot veil their habits for long. As they become depressed, losing their jobs, friends, hobbies and their interested in anything other than the urge for drinking. Moreover the verbal and physical abuse regularly occurs when living with an intoxicating person. The distressing part is that that the family members often have to endure this abuse, as in most cases the alcoholics are the main care providers of the family.
After loosing their profession they are required to go to the AA meetings and hoping that their problem are solved by talking and taking pills. But for some it is too late as their obsession is consumed in their brain and blood cells. Also the urge for a drink is high, especially when know that all accomplishments are vanished and that time is irreversible. Consequently the depression takes over and makes life even more unbearable.
And there comes that bottle of Vodka, again the easy way out. Giving back that feeling of elevation which makes life easier and gives the soul what it was longing for.
Yes, lots of bewail and feeling of weakness, but at the same time that little voice saying ‘you only live once’ and so… you have another one.
As time passes the effects become noticeable, since the alcoholics are getting used to the amount of drinking. Consequently the alcohol consumption increases while reaching that same level of satisfaction. What’s more the alcoholics are receiving more bills for drunk driving, while the brain cells are dying and memories fall. Also their health is deteriorating as the organs, such as the liver, decline rapidly.
The world of an alcoholic is similar to a hallway with lots of doors that have a way out and the further you go the fewer exits there are. At this point the end is near and the last they do is blink before to fall in a coma which ends with a hart attack.
