The aim of good web design is to input usability and accessibility into consideration in your design process in order to develop interactive websites that are accessible, efficient, useful and easy to use.
A good web design is merited in many ways, they are:
Usability:
Usability is by and large considered as making certain that websites are designed to be interactive, useful, helpful and enjoyable in order to give an enjoyable user experience. It Users find it very easy to interact with good designed websites because it enables then to achieve their goals straight away.
Therefore, a good website must be effective, easy to learn and use, helpful, memorable and efficient. Usability provides excellent user experiences by ensuring that websites are entertaining, motivating, rewarding, satisfying and emotionally fulfilling. Usability makes it possible to increase the productivity by perking up and supporting how a user use the website and get all work done within a short period of time.
Accessibility:
A good web design should be accessible. Web accessibility supports and extends sociality. Accessibility in a good web design brings out constructive responses from users such as feeling at ease, being comfortable and enjoying the experience of using your website. A well-designed website should be easily used by everyone including people with disability. A disabled person should find it very easy and effortless to use your website. An accessible and well-designed websites should be browsers-compatible with most browsers so that they can be easily used by users with different types of browsers.. Accessible web design allows all your website content and information to be clear and obvious in order to communicate without difficulty with your user.
Navigation:
A good web design provides navigation support which are sometimes present either at the top of a web page or placed sideways on a webpage. Good navigation design makes your website accessible understandable to every user.
Appearance:
A good web design should look aesthetically pleasing, simple but elegant to its users. A good graphical design is very important in a good web design – avoid long sentences, and paragraphs, avoid using excessive colours which may confuse users. Using gratuitous graphic and animation can be distracting and and increase the download time of a website. Consistency with the web pages is very important especially with the use of font, font sizes, menu, terminology, and numbering.
In conclusion, a good web design increases the functionality and productivity of your website and encourages a user problem-solving process at each stage of website design. In a nutshell, a good web design should be user-inclined.
