I have been intuitive my entire life and I worked as a professional psychic for six and a half years. So, I hope that qualifies me to speak on getting the most from your psychic reading. There are several things to understand about being psychic and once you understand these principles, there are several measures that you can take to optimize your reading. First of all, not all psychics that claim to be psychic are in fact so. Some are in it for the money, some are in it because they are fascinated with the psychics who are psychic, and some are in it because they believe that they possess the gift when in fact they may not. As a layperson, it is unlikely that you will be able to make an immediate determination as to whether you have run into these types of charlatans. But, should you choose to try a reading, there are things you can do to curtail these problems which will be discussed later.

But assuming that your psychic reader is a genuine psychic, there are still some things to understand about his or her art. First of all, a good psychic is in the business to serve people in the most positive way and because they have a respect for, and a command of, the art. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Secondly, psychics are not God or any other form of supernatural being. They are foulable human beings with a form or forms of heightened sensitivity that gives them a unique perspective and an ability to help others. They will not have every answer that you seek, nor will they be right 100 percent of the time. They will, however, have some of (and perhaps most of) the answers you want and a very talented psychic can sometimes get a degree of accuracy that is CLOSE to 100 percent. Thirdly, not all psychics work the same way. Think of them as mentally creative artists who like to solve puzzles and can do so with their special combinations of talents. Some are intuitive, some are clairsentient, some are clairaudient, and still others are channellers, mediums, or kinetics. But, most psychics have more than one of these abilities. If you were to inquire as to what gift or gifts your psychic reader had, he or she should have some familiarity with these terms and be able to tell you which of these senses is their forte. Bear in mind, though, that psychic development is an evolution just like human growth, so he or she might not know all of their gifts. But they should be able to provide you with adequate information to be entrusted to a reading or two.
