What does it take to keep a heart from breaking
How can I trust you when all you do is tell me lies
I take it slow but you say no and I end up feeling blue anyway
You say you love me but why should I believe that
What does it take to make you wake
and realize what you would lose if I was to say goodbye
What does it take to make the Earth Quake
Is seeing you, and knowing it through
I believe in the benefit of a doubt and second chances
There is more to me than you can see
Cause my love is strong and it will carry on
What does it take to build a bridge of trust
A patient heart and a clear mind
When I first met you, I knew I would love you till the end
Tell my instincts are not wrong but right
So I can keep our powers strong
What does it take to be more than friends
To carry on a relationship through tough bends
I hope you understand the way I feel is true
That I really do...do and will always love you
What does it take, it takes an answer
Yes or No, that is all I really want to know

What does it take to keep a heart from breaking
How can I trust you when all you do is tell me lies
I take it slow but you

Blankets and the warm
Outside only waits the cold

Talking Without Listening
You talk
As if everything is okay
Not taking into any consideration
That you may be dead one

Orphaned Children
We the orphaned children
Of institution loneliness
Restrain our reckless freedom
With sacrifice of kin
We lurk

Walking With You
The evening floats in on a raven’s wing
and in this half light I can barely conjure your face.
