Unfortunately most student loan debt can not included in bankruptcy unless you can prove that repaying the debt would cause gross burden on the individual. That can rarely be proven. One thing you might want to consider if you are in a condition to consider bankruptcy, is to consider attempting to settle the debt from your student loan before the bankruptcy.
A high point to student loans not being forgivable in bankruptcy, paying your student loans after you have discharged your other debt, will help you to rebuild your credit score.
I have heard of people using their credit cards in order to pay off the student loan debt and then bankrupting on the credit cards. While this seems to me to be unethical, if you are planning to do that you should know that you have to wait 90 days after any large charges and even if you wait that ling, the credit card companies can still object to the filing on the basis of suspected fraud. You would be better pff to go ahead and try to pay back the student loan after you have discharged the bankruptcy.
