Poetry: Still the one

PAST LOVE

We thought it would last forever, this love we had long ago

We thought it would conquer anything and grow stronger as we grew old

But something went wrong and the flame that burned bright

Flickered and died away

We couldn't recapture it again somehow, so we went our separate ways.

i miss sometimes now you are gone, but time has healed the pain

Those intimate years when we were one

Have been ingrained on my heart

You became my soul mate and yet now we are far part

Moving on without you has been something strange and new

A loneliness surrounds me, I'm sad and missing you

i will always cherish those years in my life

Your kiss on my lips lingers still

Our beautiful love was so special

I miss you and I always will.
