Lately, the stock market has been in a 'bullish' mode. January 2011 has been very copious to its investors. The DOW-Jones average reached the 12,000 mark; however it makes the average 'Jane' and 'Joe' wonder if that upswing can place more money in their pockets. Millions are still unemployed and those who have jobs are always trying to stretch the dollar. We all could do with a little extra in our pocket books. After settling your monthly obligations, many discover that some are overlooked. At this juncture, you know it is time to find little ways to earn extra income. 

When your back is against the wall and you have bill collectors calling you at odd hours, one has to come up with creative ideas on how to earn extra money so as to balance your balance sheet. If you are an excellent baker or cook, this is time to shine. And, if you have school-age kids, you could try to promote your baked goods for the school's cafeteria. Use the opportunity to let others in the neighborhood know of your special talent. Seek out fairs and flea markets in the environs in order to peddle your delicacies.You could do a 'brown bag' lunch service and deliver to office workers who generally have limited time for lunch.

With the advancement of the Internet, still many users are not literate in respect of creating certain programs and web-sites. If you are a computer 'geek' do let others know of your services.Moreover, if you possess teaching skills, you could provide part-time lessons once or twice per week at a community college. Now-a-days, everyone seems to be desirous of learning a second language, this niche is excellent to fill if you have the knowledge of Spanish, French, etc.

If you are a stay at home mom with a small child, perhaps, you could offer your services to other moms around the neighborhood in the area of babysitting a child of similar age group at your home. In addition, you could also pick up a couple of kids for parents who are strapped for time because of work schedules. 

The arts is always a great way to spread knowledge and gain a few extra dollars. Therefore, if you are musically inclined in the area of playing an instrument like the guitar or piano, this is a great way to derive cash and simultaneously reap joy.

We are all experiencing challenging times; and if we are opened to small creative ways, we certainly can earn extra cash in the pocket books. Remember that every little adds up; and that's wonderful in these times.
