How do we get God's attention

How do we get God’s attention?

“I am the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys…” Song of Solomon, 2:1

Believers need do nothing to get God’s attention, because in a world of corruption and wickedness we are beautiful, clothed in the righteousness of Christ. We are to God, a sweet perfume, dressed in the grace and wrapped in the love and affection of the Holy Spirit. We thrive and live under the Son of righteousness.

We beam with light into a world of darkness, a lily that blossoms in the valley. This is all contingent of course on our acceptance of Christ Jesus as our Savior. He is the key; he is the safe passage that allows us access to God. When we pray, we are allowed access to God through Him. It is through Christ’s eyes that God sees us as the rose of Sharon.

It is through Christ Jesus that we have the ability to bear fruit, because of His graciousness, and his perfection. Christ Jesus provided a sacrifice that washed away our sin, that we may abide in His perfection, and produce a sweet fragrance that is pleasing to our Lord. Through Christ and His love we may provide supplication and praise to the Father.

Answering the Knock at the Door

If it were not for Christ, then we could not communicate with God through the spirit. Our efforts would be in vain. Christ allows us to tenderly draw nearer to God. Once we accept Christ’s sacrifice, when we answer the door of his knock, God immediately turns His eyes to us, because our souls belong to Him. He provides us with a divine consolation, and adopts us into His eternal family. We are granted the privileges that come with the new covenant of everlasting life.

Through constant and diligent prayer we find protection from temptation and sin. We also surround ourselves in a constant armor of God’s love. There is no thing on this earth and above stronger than the love of the Father.

Sin and Separation

Sin separates us from God and His protecting love. When we sin we fail to abide in the Son of God. When we sin we forget our true nature, which is love. Sin causes us to fall from grace. We begin to live in a world filled with illusion, which is nothing more than a trick to make us feel guilty, shamed, and unworthy of the unconditional love of the father. This is why God sent Christ to redeem mankind. Christ took on the burdens of sin, guilt, shame and anger so that man could capture the attention of our loving Father through love and devotion.

All we have to do now is thank our Lord, pray, bless and worship Him. It’s as simple as that.  Oh, and let’s not forget to love one another. For without love, life isn’t worth living.
