Print or electronic versions: How do you prefer reading daily news and what are 3 reasons why?

Anyone that has access to the Internet and knows how to use a computer, surely, would need to admit electronic news is the most thorough way to go, unless catching news is for entertainment purposes, primarily. To say otherwise, could be saying, “I am content with only one, or just a few news sources and I trust, I will get all the glimpse, I want, of all sides of issues”.

Newspapers are run and operated by humans, and humans will be human. Slanted news, AKA censored news, is definitely a possibility. (Who would not look guilty in a court of law, if the judge said, “I only have time to hear one side of the story”, and whose side would he choose to hear, in such a situation, friends and family)?

The largest newspaper in the world, can not offer all of the news on a daily basis, even if the world's best television news is thrown in as a free bonus. The time and space for all news to be in print daily and laid at your doorstep, is just not feasible.

It would be a full time job to receive the best 10 news publications on the planet daily, and sort through the pages for news of your interest, and then read them all. Even then, it would be impossible to compete with all of the other news sources combined, that are there for the getting on the Internet.

Yes, it would require educated searching and determination to get a lot of news daily on the Internet, but the options offered, greatly outweigh the alternative possibilities, of thumbing through the pages that are at your disposal.

Furthermore, news comes much quicker on the Internet. News is available before the ink is dry on paper for distribution. From time to time, news will get in print for the first time, that appears to be today's news, that has been circulated on the Internet for a year or more.

It is no longer the day of having to wait a week on mail that is being sent from California to New York. If the politicians, that only have their own gains and power in mind, were allowed to shut down the Internet for their personal use, it would almost set this country back to the horse and buggy days, comparison wise. So called third world countries would then be showing the fourth world country, the USA, how to get things done fast.

Of course, being greener, that is cutting less trees down for example, to produce the demand for paper, is another reason to prefer news electronic style. This also means less paper to be thrown in the trash or recycled.

There are advantages to newspapers. A look at both sides of a story is only fair. Many people today do not have a computer and do not know how to operate one. In addition, clipping out a photo of yourself or someone you care for, can be rewarding.

There will be a demand for newspapers for decades to come, but we do not need to stand in the way of progress. Teamwork for progress is essential for any nation trying to compete with the world of today. Let's continue forward and not back up an inch. Happy searching.
