Cold weather doesn’t have to dash your plans for a hot date. There are many things you can do to have a memorable time. Some things require snow or ice, but many things can be done indoors safely tucked away from the biting cold.
Make a snowman
Everyone has a vision of how “Frosty” is supposed to look. This is your chance to see what your date’s idea of “Frosty” is. Ask him/her to bring some things to dress the snowman and take the time to build it together. Take lots of pictures. You will want to remember this time that you worked as a team to bring Frosty into existence.
Snow sports – skiing and sledding
If you have never been on a pair of skis in your life, you will have a fun time getting acquainted with the slopes with a date to laugh you through the falls. Make sure you wear proper protective gear and layer to keep warm. The best places to do this are resorts, if you do not live in a city that has slopes. Sledding can be done right near your home after a good snow and might be really romantic by moonlight.
Cider, tea or hot chocolate and a good, long talk
We have become such a busy society that there is rarely time anymore for two people who are building a relationship to have a good talk. Cold weather and a cozy indoor fire set the stage for it. Talk about things you’ve never talked about before (but keep it light). Get to know how your partner’s mind works. You may be surprised at who it actually is that you love.
Skating
Outdoor ice skating with a brisk wind on your face makes for a good date. If you’re a novice skater, bracing for the falls gives you a reason to cling and get close. If you can’t find any outdoor ice in your city, try an indoor rink or take it off the ice and try roller skating. If you haven’t done it in a while, be sure to brace for the sore muscles you will have the following day. Skating gives you a full-body workout.
Game night
Sports do not have to be only for guys; sports can be a good activity for couples. A good way for a woman to get to know her date better is to have a game night with lots of wings, hot dogs, nachos, pork skins, pizza, peanuts, popcorn, pretzels and beer. He is in his element when he’s watching a game, so she will be filled with laughter or completely amazed at how he talks to the screen. This also is a way for a guy to gauge a woman’s tolerance level for sports. If she falls asleep or starts getting restless, you know that
