Poetry: The animal inside me

by Rain Weight

Created on: January 23, 2011

It rants and raves

O how it craves

It lies and cries

O how it tries

Yet it cannot persuade me

Civility must be upheld

My ruling cannot by it be felled

For days on end I'll battle true

Until we both are black and blue

Yet it cannot win against me

It moans and groans

O how it drones

It picks and ticks

O how it tricks

Yet it cannot persuade me

Civility must remain the same

My belief is that all must be tamed

For years on end we'll toss and tumble

Until our spirits crack and crumble

Yet it cannot win against me
