Seasons of Life
The seasons of life flicker by
They are gone in the blink of an eye
And the ones that we cherish the most
Vanish quickly like Halloween ghosts
I thought that our season together
Would last and I’d have you forever
I dreamed I’d grow old, here with you
In our warm, little cottage for two
But our sweet, summer season of love
Was too soon snatched to heaven above
As sweet angels came down from the sky
Softly taking you with them on high
Now your seasons will always be warm
As you wait there with Jesus, our Lord
But my seasons will e’er here be blue
‘till you come down and take me with you

You’re like a breath of springtime air.
You seep into my pores.
I cannot move but you are there -

My true love from that beach,
Sitting with your buddies,
You seemed so out of reach.
Over at you

With winter's blanket covering our ground
fires crackling, hearth of murmured sound
Deer plucking at the forest, near to our
The seasons of love like the seasons of earth
Portend new awakenings of a mysterious birth
Steadfast and anxious, Spring
