Think of a game that you never played any similar games of this type, World of Tanks brought definitely a fresh breathe to the gaming industry. World of Tanks is a blend of arcade and realistic simulation style game so it is able to please both run n gun fans, and also gamers who are craving for a well designed simulation game.
World of Tanks is being developed by a Belarusian game company, Wargaming.net. I first heard about this company when I played Order of War, a RTS that takes place during WW2. World of Tanks is still in beta testing and there are rumors going around that it will be released officially soon. And it is not like any other game where developers do not care what every beta tester says. The developers pay much attention to everything that the beta testers say and I believe do their best to improve the game.
You first need to go to www.world oftanks.com and then you will choose the server group that you prefer. The good part is that you can be located in the EU but you can choose to play in the US server or vice versa. On the top left corner you can see the Apply CBT page link where you can apply for World of Tanks Closed Beta. Do not worry about being rejected; they almost accept everyone at this stage. If your application is accepted, they will send you an email and after that you can download the game from downloads page. The full client’s size is about 1.7 gigabytes.
After downloading and running the game for the first time, you need to choose the server that you want to play in. As soon as you choose your server, the game takes you to your garage. The garage is where you see your tanks and resupply them, manage your tank personnel, buy and sell tanks, equip your tank with mounts and consumables, and see your service record and the tech tree.
There are currently 3 nations that you can choose to play for; Germany, Russia and USA. I think the developers will soon bring French, British and Japanese armor into the game and it would be very nice if they ever add Italian tanks and the various tanks produced around the world during WW2 under other tanks category.
The first tank that you own will be a very small tank. But as you play the game, you earn credits and experience where you can spend them to research new modules for your tank. The modules include new engine, turret, gun, track and radio. You can also spend the experience points in researching a higher level tank. Not enough experience is enough to have a higher level tank; you need
