Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is a gold planeswalker card belonging to the Mirrodin Besieged expansion costing two colorless mana, one black mana and one blue mana. It comes with three loyalty counters and has three abilities. The third being the ultimate ability which is usually an ability to finish off your opponent.

First Ability

The first ability states "+1: Look at the top five cards of your library. You may reveal an artifact card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order." This ability gives you tremendous card advantage.With this ability, you can quickly sift through your library and easily find that key artifact and get rid of cards which are not needed at the moment. This ability is similar to the concept of scrying except that you could only scry for a specific kind of card.  The limitation of this ability is that you could only fish for artifacts and not other card types.

Second Ability

The second ability states "-1: Target artifact becomes a 5/5 artifact creature." This ability is a weaker version of the first Tezzeret's ultimate ability which turns all of your artifacts into 5/5 creatures. This has been patterned after Garruk Wildspeaker's second ability of  giving up a loyalty counter to get creature. Imagine getting a 5/5 beatstick for the mere cost of a loyalty counter. This could be used to surround Tezzeret with defenders to protect him from the onslaught of opposing attackers or to overwhelm your opponent with these gigantic creatures.

Third Ability (Ultimate Ability)

The third ability states "-4: Target player loses X life and you gain X life, where X is twice the number of artifacts you control." This ability is similar to the popular card "Drain Life" or to its new version "Consume Spirit." This ultimate could easily be achieved with artifact lands, zero cost artifacts or artifact tokens. This ability could be achieved on your next turn after Tezerret comes out. With this ability, its "lights out" for the opponent.

Verdict

This card is pretty good in the new Mirrodin block which is an artifact based block. This card is insane in Vintage and Legacy when combined with the most powerful artifacts in the history of the game and with majority of those artifacts being way undercosted.  Using Tezerret, you could easily beat your opponent to a pulp using your horde of 5/5 creatures or finish him of with his "drain life" gun. This card however is limited to artifact decks. Much like the first incarnation, without any artifacts this card is of no use.
