First dates should always promote good conversation. This usually means that you have to place you and your date in an environment where the conversation can happen without too much competing noise. For this reason, loud sports events, noisy bars or nightclubs, concerts, social rallies and other events where you must yell in order to be heard are not good ideas for a first date.
There are some places you can go, though, that will make it easier to get to know your date.
Quiet sports you both enjoy
While neither of you may be extremely athletic, engaging in a physical activity that allows you to stop and chat between plays is a good idea. Some ideas for sports outings include: mini-golf, bowling, billiards, pool, go-carts, biking, hiking, or swimming.
Psychic, tarot card reader or palm reader

If the private terrace idea is a bit too “private” for you, try a local coffee shop. It is low-key enough to talk candidly and sip your favorite cup-a-Joe slowly.

Take much care in the home-based first date. Because of the safety issue, it is usually not recommended that you stay home alone with dates you don’t know very well – unless it is a double date or a full-blown dinner party with friends. If you already know the person, though, the catered or home-cooked meal gives you a lot of control over your environment. You can get to know one another with few distractions. If the noise gets to be too much for you at dinner parties, you and
