Heart is one of the most important organs in the human body. Without the heart, the blood will not be able to travel around the body to provide nutrients and remove waste. The heart is a muscle (so as to do the work of a pump). A bright red heart is a heart with blood rich in oxygen while a dark red heart is a heart with blood low in oxygen.

Being a muscle organ, the best is to take in food rich in protein. The protein obtains will used to build the muscle wall and thus strength the heart. Besides taking in food rich in protein, one must also take note to avoid food high in animal fats. The fats will be accumulated in the lumen of blood vessels thus causing blockages of the blood vessels in the heart. Once the blood vessels of the heart is block, blood will not be able to travel smoothly. A healthy heart is a heart without animal fats. Foods to avoid will be fried and oily food. Healthy food like salads will be able to clear the fats builds up if necessary.

Next food to take in will be to ‘exercise’ regularly. As heart is a muscle organ, a regular exercise routine will help to regular and ensure that the heart is healthy. Exercise is the best food one can ever give to their heart. What’s more, exercise is free. However, do note not to over exercise as it will tired the heart thus making it wear and tear at a faster rate.

The Chinese beliefs that naturally red coloured food is good for the heart. The reason is simply because the heart is red. Red colour food includes tomato, cherry, water apple, red pepper and etc.

Generally, taking in more vegetables and fruits will be beneficial to body including the heart organ. A diet rich in vegetables and fruits will help to lower blood pressure, reduced risk of heart disease and stroke. Antioxidants in fruit and vegetables offer protection against heart disease. Fruit and vegetables are also important sources of folate, which helps lower the blood levels of the amino acid homocysteine, which appears to be linked to an increased risk of heart disease.

To maintain a healthy heart you should aim for a minimum of five serving of vegetables and fruits a day. Eat variety colors of vegetables and fruits, to give your body different types of nutrients needed. Last but not least, drinking enough water will helps to maintain a healthy heart as well as the water will be able to dilute the blood thus making it eaiser for the heart to work and pump the fluid around the blood.
