Unconditional love means exactly what it means. Love that is given unconditionally is pure, and is from the heart. Unconditional love does not judge, nor is it prejudiced against anyone, regardless of nationality or creed. Unconditional love is 'colour blind', is blind to mental and physical handicaps, and is blind to hatred.
Unconditional love equals sacrifice in life. It can mean everything from putting yourself in danger, to saving your loved one... or the ultimate sacrifice... giving up your life for the one you love, or indeed, even for a stranger. Unconditional love does not question, it just 'is'. It is the purest form of love because it is not created by man.
Unconditional love is unlike any other form of love known. There seems to be a deep spiritual feel to this type of love that cannot be explained by mere words. When unconditional love is in action people can see with their own eyes the effect it can have on any one person.
In fact, unconditional love can be found within our pets - especially dogs - who will stay with their master or mistress until the very end. This is even so far as to remain at the graveside of their now-deceased owner, guarding the grave from all strangers who wander near. This is unconditional love in action within animals.
Yet when it comes to strangers, people show the most amazing examples of unconditional love. This is never more so then when a disaster strikes, be it natural or man-made. Whether it is helping the homeless, or helping those stricken in famines, earthquakes; floods, hurricanes; or terrorism, the beauty of the human race to help their fellow man in such dire need is beyond belief, and never ceases to amaze.
This is unconditional love in action. Never more so was this the case than on that fateful day, on September11, when terror struck New York and the American nation as a whole.. The bestiality of man, who caused those planes to crash into the towers, was the lowest common denominator. It was an example of just how low human beings can sink when wanting to destroy, and wipe off the face of the earth, others for no reason at all.
Yet, the highest common denominator throughout that whole day and weeks that followed, was the unconditional love that complete strangers gave to others who needed them. These were the real angels in human form, who risked life and limb time and again, to rescue those who could not save themselves. This was pure love in action. Love for their fellow man and woman - even though they may not have known them - they risked their own lives because they simply had too.
When such horrific incidents occur, then we see the true value and true meaning of unconditional love. It did not matter whether the victims were black, white, yellow or red, whether they were women, or handicapped in some way, for unconditional love moved the hearts and minds of man to push them ever on and forwards in their attempt to rescue as many people as possible. This is the true nature of the human race, and this is what is meant by unconditional love...to sacrifice your own life for the life of your family, or indeed, a complete stranger.
