A marriage proposal is a moment that is going to change both you and your partner’s lives forever. It is a very important moment and hopefully the first step towards your married life together.

The fact is that you will both remember the moment you proposed for the rest of your lives, it is a scary moment for the person doing the asking but hopefully a wonderful moment for you both. It is likely that you will both tell the story of how you got engaged several times over a number of years and you will want to remember it fondly.

A proposal is a milestone in a relationship, you will likely have known for some time that you want to spend the rest of your life with your intended, but the proposal is the moment when it becomes official. It shows the intention to marry and therefore lets other people know that you are committed to each other and plan to spend the rest of your lives together.

Another reason why a marriage proposal is so important is because hopefully it is a moment you will only have once in your life. You will want to cherish the memory of that moment forever and it will hopefully remain special to you both for many years to come.

Of course the most exciting thing about getting engaged is that you can start to plan your wedding, although there is usually a certain amount of stress associated with planning a wedding it is also an exciting time in a couples lives together. Although you will likely want to rush in and start planning your wedding almost straight away, it is important to remember to enjoy being engaged as it is a very important stage in your relationship and one that is too often overlooked.

Just because the proposal is a very important moment does not mean that it needs to be flashy or elaborate, it simply needs to be a moment that you can both remember fondly for the rest of your lives. It may be that you decide to propose in the restaurant where you had your first date, or perhaps you would prefer it to be at home with just the two of you. As long as that moment is special to the both of you it really does not matter how you propose, everyone is different so planning the perfect proposal shows how well you know your partner.

A marriage proposal is one of the most important moments in a couples lives together, one that hopefully you can both remember fondly for many years to come. Just bear in mind if you are planning to pop the question: it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a big elaborate proposal planned, all that matters is that your proposal is special to the two of you.
