BLIZZARD OF JANUARY 2011
Snow gently falling
down
deceptively beautiful and yet deadly
each and every flake unique.
Trillions of flakes become
a blizzard as they dance to the
howling of the wind that
slashes through the heavy winter clothing
of those brave enough or foolish enough
to venture outside.
Walking is difficult, seeing is impossible
in wind-driven white
that buries everything in its way.
On the road drivers
flirt with death as their
vehicles slide
totally out of control
like bumper cars gone wild.
Death by snow is not the way to go.

Trillions

Mini white tornadoes twist
in arial combat,
bounce off loose siding
like a bouncy ball
gone nuts in a three sided box.
The blizzard arrived
An abundance of snow
Dropped minus zero below
Five Inches covered the ground
Freezing the forest leaves

It is May
A dreary day
Snow and rain
Coming down.
Is it May?
Where is the Sun?
Where is the Spring?

Blizzards…..can mean danger
If one is driving in them,
But everyone safe at home,
Can mean a sense of enjoyment
