Now this is a very controversial subject to be writing about because everybody has a different opinion. Some may think that yes, celebrities have a negative affect on society; others may think that they have a positive affect on society and some may be torn and think that they have a positive and negative affect! Personally though, I think that they have a negative affect on society.

Reason being, nowadays you can't go anywhere, put anything on television, listen to anything on the radio without seeing or hearing about one celebrity or another's: divorce, break up, drug addiction, alcohol issue, money or sex scandal etc. To me, it gets extremely boring and I sometimes just wish there were no such things as celebrities! They really do take the mickey out of all that's going on in the world and it's totally unnecessary - they're so overrated! For example, Lindsay Lohan was recently released from jail and rumour has it she could be sent right back again for allegedly failing a drug test that was court-mandated. Also, Paris Hilton is in trouble again, this time though for possession of cocaine. Perez Hilton (who is a 32 year old celebrity blogger) could be imprisoned for apparent child pornography; he managed to get an indecent photograph of Miley Cyrus and posted it on his blog. David Boreanaz confessed that he was unfaithful to his wife Jaime Bergman, who he had been married to for nine years. How can any of this have a positive affect on society, it just brings you down and when you think about all of the people who are starving, homeless, jobless, dying, ill and diseased, it makes you realise how selfish celebrities actually are!

Celebrities have everything! Money, fame, expensive cars, mansions etc, I could go on! And yet they are still unhappy? Now don't get me wrong, not all celeb's are like this and I'm not judging anyone, just stating the truth. Some are grateful and do good with what they have but this isn't the case most of the time. They are obviously unhappy with their lives if they feel the need to take drugs, drink excessive amounts of alcohol, have affairs etc. If you think about it, we (ordinary, infamous people) are actually better off than them. I mean, we don't have the pressure that celebrities have nowadays so we don't feel it necessary to get involved in the scandals that they feel the need to, and me being a Believer in Yahweh (Christian), I believe that Yahweh can save and free them from the bondage that they are obviously under.
