Thief of Dreams

Who are you when the lights go out?
This is when you cannot hide the darkness within.
Do you know who you are without a doubt,
or do you fear for your soul because of your sins?

I see the lies whenever I look into your eyes.
They are many, and they are there for the world to see.
I did not want to believe that love could die,
But we cannot be what we were. How could we be?

Too much has come between us.
There is too much to forgive.
Love is lost when there is no trust.
I have left for you and nothing left to give.

Life will go on. I have too much in front of me,
but not with you for you are the thief of dreams.
Do you think I have forgotten, or that my dreams cease to be?
I guess to you that is the way it seems.
