program allows you to set your own rate. Here's how it works:

3. Decide on a nightly rate for the time period
4. Send them a bid, using the online bid submission form. They will honor the highest rate.

Speaking of high, it's important to realize that Breckenridge is at an elevation 3034 m. For this reason, it is not unusual to have a bit of a headache when you arrive. Many visitors solve this problem by spending part of the evening at the 02 Lounge on 500 Main Street. They serve herbal martinis and pump oxygen into the room. High speed Internet access is available.

Once you have adjusted to the altitude, you will want to explore the exciting Breckenridge nightlife. Built in 1879, the Gold Pan Saloon describes itself as a bar with "the most continuous operating liquor license west of the Mississippi." There are pool tables, foosball, video golf and nightly entertainment.

Believe it or not, Breckenridge Colorado has a superb community theatre. The Backstage Theatre, located on Ridge Street, presents performances in every genre of theatre. Right next to the Backstage is Angel's Hollow restaurant. It looks like a hole in the wall, but it's not. The coconut shrimp is fantastic, and the homemade salsas are uniquely delicious. Angel's Hollow patrons often beg the owners to sell them the recipe.

If you decide to take a day off from skiing to explore the town, the Barney Ford House Museum is a block away from The Backstage Theatre. Ford was an escaped slave who moved to Colorado, and eventually opened a restaurant in Breckenridge. The guides at this museum tell the full story of his journey.

Shopping is another option for your day off. There are a variety of ski shops, clothing stores and art galleries on Main Street. You can also take the bus to Frisco, where you can find some excellent consignment shops, such as Rags To Riches and The Funky Trunk. If you are looking for outlet shopping, The Outlets of Silverthorne have every type of outlet store that you can imagine. They are about a 40-minute ride on the free Summit Stage bus.
