A Single Mother’s Wish
Society looks down upon her being a single mother of three,
Without a higher education, she cannot go through the doors that she needs.
Her hands ache from working longs hours into the evenings past nine,
In her heart she wishes that this will be her season to shine.
She struggles to feed the children that she dearly loves,
At night she cries, as she prays for the answers from above.
She wonders why this world has become so heartless and cold,
Her worries have taken a toll on her heart, which have made her look old.
The world needs to start embracing her for being strong and proud,
All my sisters in this world need to stand up for her with a voice that is loud.
We cannot keep letting our sisters be abused and treated like dirt.
We must listen to the silent cries of the women who have been hurt.
We need to stand united and let this poem be the reason this is her season to shine.

POETRY: SINGLE MOTHERS
The life is rough
And the going is tough,
It gets worse with no education
No time to spend on vacation.
As a single mother it is set forth that you are strong, motivated, dedicated, and an overachiever.
Yet, as a single mother
