Online card game strategy: Basic strategies for Eredan iTCG

by Julius Albert Custodio

Created on: January 08, 2011

There are many ways to win battles in the online collectible card game, Eredan iTCG. However, before a player can even master the game and apply the most advanced tactics, he first needs to understand the most basic strategies in order to survive. Like in most games, new players are usually at a disadvantage not just because of low-level cards but also because of the lack of knowledge regarding the most basic strategies.

Each of the strategies below, therefore, will keep a newbie from losing too many games and at the very least, become a competitive Eredan player as opposed to a punching bag designed for Eredan veterans.

Here are a few basic strategies and key reminders a player needs to know while playing Eredan iTCG:

* Read the wiki, play the tutorial, visit the forums, and learn as you go.

First-time TCG players need not be scared of a seemingly complicated game like Eredan. Almost all the basics are discussed in the in-game tutorial while the remaining aspects of the game are included in Eredan's wiki page. Forums are also available if a player has specific questions in mind. Lastly, the most helpful (and enjoyable) way a player can understand the ins and outs of Eredan is by playing the game as many times as he possibly can.

* Play around with the different starter decks and see how each guild fits your play style:

Noz'Dingard Envoys

This guild is comprised mainly of magicians but they will also gain access to hybrid types like Dragon Knights and Witchblades who can cast spells as well as launch a physical attack. Definitely one of the harder guilds to master in the game but they can be pretty unpredictable, and for a card battle TCG, that is a good thing. Why? Because the more unpredictable a play style is, the easier it is to stump an opponent.

Zil Warriors

Assassin-types for players who want to eliminate their enemies as fast and as efficient as possible. The Zil guild is easy to manage simply because they have a straightforward play style (almost all action cards are made for sniper-like one shots). Winning battles with them can get boring pretty fast too. In the later parts of the game though, players will understand that there's more to Zil than meets the eye.

Kotoba

Stuck between Envoys and Warriors are the Item-dependent Kotoba characters. These are the heavy bruisers and hardened tanks of Eredan. Their bread and butter comes in the form of chain bonuses from item usage. In using Kotoba though, one must be careful not to get item-happy and stock
