Ryan held a PH.D in the study of atmospheric conditions. He obtained a grant from the government several years ago, with the main focus of his studies being on global warming. Even though Ryan was excellent in communication, his weakness was communicating with the opposite sex. Toby on the other hand was the life of the party. Even though she was very outgoing, Toby was also a very attractive young scientist.
A two week study was scheduled to take place at Lime Village just northeast of Anchorage Alaska. This exact spot was specifically chosen because of the remoteness of the location. The two scientists chosen for this study of course were: Toby, and Ryan.
Ryan arrived at the remote cabin close to an hour before Toby and made himself busy setting up all of the equipment. As he glanced outside looking at the forbidding cloud formations he noticed a four wheel drive vehicle pull up beside the cabin.
What he saw step out of the vehicle made his heart race, and also his hands begin to shake. But when the cabin door opened Ryan peered into the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen.
“Nice to meet you,” Ryan said, and stammered as his face began to blush bright red.
“Well it’s very nice to meet you also,” Toby replied as she took off her large overcoat. Ryan tried his best not to stare, but he felt that every time they made eye contact Toby was looking deep into his soul.
Toby also felt a strange chemistry brewing inside herself she had never felt before. She began to look at the dark clouds when a weather forecast blasted over the radio.
“A winter storm warning has been issued for the entire listening area. All residents are recommended to stay inside as a severe storm is expected to produce over a foot of snow, with temperatures dropping to 15 degrees below zero.”
“Looks like we might have to keep each other warm if it gets much colder,” Toby said glancing over at Ryan. His heart skipped a beat when he felt Toby grab his shaky hand. He took a deep breath when they stared into each others eyes and knew that a “winter romance” was definitely his latest weather forecast.
