Midnight Love
"When my love will I be able to see you again?" His voice floated to her over the soft breeze of the nighttime air. Warm and comforting as it was, her mind raced with a secret that she would have to tell him soon, but not now, not yet. "Soon, my love, soon, for the night is not over yet and we still have time together now. Forget everything else, and enjoy this moment with me, for any day could be our last."
As she said this she felt a lump rise in her throat, her words rang in her ears, "any day could be our last." Not now she thought, I must be happy, if not for myself then for him. "You seem troubled my Catalina, what is it that bothers your mind so?" He leaned towards her, his hand brushing her cheek ever so softly, gently he placed a delicate kiss on her silky smooth lips. He places his fingers beneath her chin and raises her head ever so slightly so that his deep blue eyes gaze into her soft green emerald ones. Feeling the intensity of his stare she forces herself to look away knowing that her eyes are the only things that can never hold back a lie.
"I have something to tell you Faux... I wanted to wait so that the final moments I will spend with you won't be ruined.. but it seems like I can't avoid them any longer..." Catalina with her head bowed stares at the ground, her eyes brimming with tears are at the point of overflowing. "Faux, my father has found someone for me, someone to marry.." Faux stared at her with wide eyes full of horror and sadness. "No! It can't be so! You must refuse the marriage! You cannot allow him to control your life anymore!" Filled with a sudden rage he starts to shake. Afraid of hurting Catalina, Faux releases her and steps away to just below a willow tree.
"My dear I'm sorry, but you know my father he is the king! He makes the rules not I. If there was a way out of this that would leave us both unharmed I would take it without a seconds hesitation, but you know the dangers that may lie in the future for us. I cannot refuse the king." That did it, Catalina broke into tears, permitting them to fall gracefully
