There are so many foods I love, I hope that I never have to decide what the last meal I'll ever enjoy would be. That aside, I suppose a sort of seafood plate done in extravagant fashion seems the most appealing. I would want lobster tails and claws poached and sliced with maybe a wasabi cucumber sauce, grilled sturgeon with a roasted pepper butter, some steamed mussels with a tomato saffron broth, a couple of raw oysters with tapatio sauce, and some crab stuffed shrimp with a creamy lobster sauce.
I would like a nice starch accompaniment, such as gorgonzola mashed potatoes with morel mushrooms, or maybe creamy polenta with artichokes and roasted red peppers.
I would start the meal with a caprese salad with kalamata olives and AGED balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.
And since I should still eat a vegetable on my dying day, some sauteed asparagus with garlic and olive oil works.
For desert I would have another lobster tail.
All the while I will be enjoying a couple of bottles of Chateau Lafite, and of course a bottle of Louis!
If I could have that right now, in fact, I would probably volunteer for the chair.
Cheers!
