Tonight it must lie with the shepherd’s keeping
That in a stall the sun is still and sleeping
Silent, lowly, small-town thing
Until all heaven’s angels bring
The joyous Good News from on high

Now through the parting clouds the holy see
Jehovah God, the Living Lord is He
Who comes to set the weary captives free
And join them with the holy family
The way to our Father
Through Jesus the Son
On earth as in heaven
The world becomes One
