Creating a video game can be considered an extremely difficult task. Besides setting up the basic idea, there are other aspects as well that are going to be considered important. It takes time to create a good game but just for creating a game, it can take some time and of course some patience. The best recommendation would be to have some programming experience with graphics before even doing so. Of course, it may not be required but could help in the sense of knowing about logic from beginning to end.
The first and probably most important is to know what kind is going to be created. That would mean also figuring out what genre it would belong it and also a plot. If it is going to be something like a sports or puzzle game, then that could be disregarded but mainly have an objective that could be easily followed. It is a challenge to complete a game from beginning to end.
An advice on a plot is that it should be something simple and nothing too complicated. For the more complex games being designed, it could have cut scenes and add to the story as well. That does not mean that a heavy plot isn’t needed but for just designing a simple game, it isn’t needed.
One piece of advice would be not to get involved with making 3D games just yet as it would probably be best to create 2D games to start with for those who have never been involved with creating them whatsoever.
Obtain a program that is going to be used. An example of such would be something like Game Maker. The reason for that would be because it is free for the regular version but the pro version will require some money but could be worth it. It isn’t the only program that could be used, however, just an idea and giving out some suggestions. Just look for a program that is going to work from beginning to end and be necessary. Find the right program that will work with creating games.
Pick out a genre that will be best suited for the game being created. It is highly important to figure that out and without it, the process can take some time. It is best to know what each type would be ranging from the action to the RPG to puzzle to any type going on. It is vital and important to really know what type of game is going to be created.
Make sure to have the sprites all ready designed. It would require a paint program or have someone that knows how to do it work on it. Creating a game could take a team and it would be best to have someone do all the sprites. Taking it further, maybe even have the scenes
