In 1989, two Burt and John Jacobs created their first t-shirts; they knew nothing about the business. For the next five years, they would hawk their tees in bean town, traveling the East coast from door to door in college dormitories. The brothers survived on peanut butter and jelly and lived out of their van. Throughout the years, they collected tons of stories but they were not living an abundant life, Until one fate full September day they printed up 48 tees for a local street fair in Cambridge Massachusetts - by 12 noon all the shirts were sold and the birth of their business was born. The brothers built their business by spreading optimism.
One of the t-shirts features an image of a glass half-full, a pessimist would see the same image she would say it was half-full. So who is right? They both would be correct. But, traveling life as an optimist is sunnier, and even when it rains your acuteness attracts others to dance between the rain drops with you-who needs an umbrella. A bright disposition is recognized from a distance you’re energized by the prism of possibilities as you draw near. We create our own realities based on our thoughts and intentional action. By using your eyes are for sight and your heart for creative vision, you can transform any aspect of your life.
Your insight will serve as beacon, attracting like-minded people to your cause to fulfill your mission. Optimism energizes your spirit, pessimism drains your soul. The right mental attitude infuses your team lifts your spirits making you pleasure to be around. A healthy thought life can translate your current reality, empowering you to engage in the disciplines necessary to bridge the gap between your dreams and reality. Disciple is no longer viewed as a bad word. But, as a breathing, the strain an struggle is removed from life when you learn how to ride the rhythm. Understanding the ebbs and flows in life prepares you for the journey. Life certainly is what we make it. We can make excuses whine or climb the ladder. Having the proper perception impacts every aspect of your life and will eventually create your reality. If you’ve been traveling through life as a pessimist it may be time to change your prescription, viewing life through a new lens can be breath taking. Once you take a peak you will invest in a new pair of frames and toss your pessimistic glasses; start altering your reality today.
