Poetry: Point of view

by Steve Burden

Created on: January 03, 2011

A point of view

is a personal thing,

the sort of thing,

impossible to swap.

I have lost count

of the number of times

I have thought this,

and later switched to that.

Pointless thinking

a single point of view,

is likely to

change world history.

But decisions

are made by scrutiny -

weighing the pros

and pondering the cons.

Considering

available options,

one arrives at

a measured conclusion.

A point of view

is much more effective,

if joined with others,

a consensus is reached.

Disagreement

is a tough sounding word.

But argument

precedes a worthy peace.

Plenty of room

for stacks of points of view.

Disagree? Well

thanks for being different!
