I love cookies and I love experimenting with new recipes. Many of my favourites have come from websites written by people who have done all the hard work in finding out the best way to make the most delicious cookies. These are some of the best websites I have found:
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Make-The-Best-Homemad e-Cookies-Homemade-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies This is a brilliant website with a very clear video that explain each step of the baking process. A helpful green monster explains the chemistry behind the baking process, while the presenter shows how slight changes to the recipe can bring about a difference in the way your cookies turn out. There are loads of hints and tips on how to make cookies just the way your family loves them, as well as advice on what might go wrong. A highly recommended website.
http://www.homemadecookiesandmore.com/ I love this very personal website, made by a lady who used to bake 4,000 cookies a year, every year for 15 years, just for the love of it. Her recipes are obviously all tried and tested and the website includes clear photographs of each type of cookie. Irresistible!
http://www.cookies-in-motion.com/Easy-Cookie-Recipes .html Cookies-in-motion.com is made available by more cookie enthusiasts. Again, the site is packed with helpful tips and advice on making the most of the recipes. I love the Pennsylvania Dutch Soft Sugar Cookies, which are known locally as ‘sugar cakes’. The site includes very simple recipes for novice cooks and children – proving you don’t need a complicated recipe to make a delicious cookie.
http://www.joyofbaking.com/cookies.html Beware the JoyofBaking website! Once you’ve seen the array of photographs depicting myriad cookies from the humble chocolate chip to the sophisticated biscotti, you will just have to get to your kitchen and start baking. Meringue Hearts, Whoopee Pies, Ladyfingers, Welsh cakes and Bourbon balls – these are just a few of the mouth-watering cookie recipes on offer. This website beats the lot for temptation, with its colour and photographs. The website also offers a comprehensive collection of cakes and pudding recipes for all occasions.
http://www.allhomemadecookies.com/index.html This website gives very straightforward recipes, which are easy to follow. Its strength is in the sheer numbers of cookies you can find here. Will you choose Butterscotch Brownies,
