There are many great places to visit with your children in London, some which can be very inexpensive.
For instance the Natural History Museum is free entry to adults and children which is situated in South Kensington, it is full of great things for children to look at and at the same time is educational. They have an area which has a very large life like figure of a dinosaur which at different times of the day is operated to move and make life like noises which is very affective.
There is the Science Museum which is also situated in South Kensington in close proximity to the Natural History Museum which is also free entry to adult and children. This is a wonderful and educational place to take children, as it is a museum in which it encourages children to take part and try some of the various scientific activities they have. They also have a lovely garden in which they hold a bubble show.
Another great place to visit is the London Dungeons which is also educational, it shows and tells you how life was in London years gone by, it can also be quite scary so is not advisable for very young children.
London hosts The London Eye which is a large big wheel with compartment which you enter and the wheel slowly revolves around which enables you to have a great view of London from up high. This is quite an experience and one not to miss.
Another great place for children to visit is the Transport Museum near Victoria, children will be able to see and go inside old and new buses, old steam trains and trams. They also have simulators to enable the children to experience what it would be like to drive trains and buses which is great fun. This is a great place to take children of all ages as there is something of interest for adult and children alike.
For children who have a love of animals there is the London Zoo which is situated near Regents Park, it homes many different animals from all over the world and at certain times of the day, children will be able to participate in feeding some of the animal. They also have one of the biggest butterfly houses which is a wonderful site.
A great place to visit is the Tower of London which is one of the many homes of King Henry the Eighth which host many historical things to see and learn and also was the place where many famous people were imprisoned before they were beheaded on the authority of the King.
Buckingham Palace is also a must place for children to visit, although they will not be able to enter this palace they will be able to look through the gates of the palace and watch at different times of the day the changing of the guards, which is a great site with their regimental uniforms. children will also be able to tell if the Queen is at the palace due to the position of the flag flying high if she is at home or low if she is away.
For the child who just enjoys open spaces to run around there is Regents Park, which is a very large park with lots of attractions.
When children have had the frill of what London has to offer in the way of interest, they can then enjoy the many different restaurants that they have to suit all tastes.
