Most of us are hoping our life will  be different in this new  year. We have ended a decade filled with uncertainty and financial struggle ,  The year 2010 was turbulent and challenging for many of us. Perhaps, we are dreaming of a better life.  Some may dream of unloading their debts,retiring from work and living a care free life. While, the young adults may be dreaming of beginning that rewarding career,traveling and meeting all of life's challenges. Everyone has a specific dream. Our dreams are attainable. We must first visualize our dreams for ourselves.

Dreaming of a better life, may motivate us to do things differently and take a different course to attain our dream. Some of us may have wanted that dream home, at one point in time. A home that seemed way out of our reach. Yet, as we mature,our dreams may mature also. Our dream house, may now be a very small condo,with very little upkeep or maintenance.  A better life,may not necessarily mean more,in some cases less is more. 

Civil Rights Activist, Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream for all of mankind. He dreamed , we would all be treated equally and afforded the same opportunities to prosper and live a better life. Alas, he had to  work very hard to have this dream come true. We must follow his example  in order to make a better life for ourselves.

Therefore, we can not sit on our laurels and expect our dreams to come true. Sacrifice, is an essential factor in our dreams coming true. The years of college education may be the sacrifice we may have needed to make, in order to make our dreams come true.

The common factor, amongst those people who have dreamed of a better life. These people pursued their dreams against all odds.  They had to say,"Nay" to the haters.. They had to ignore the doubters of their dream and continue to dream.  

We should all continue to dream of a  better life. Seeking to better ourselves should be a life long endeavor.Once, we become complacent  with our lives, we might then ask ourselves, "what more is there to life? Dreaming of a better life is a gift to ourselves and inspires us to do more and  never settle for less.
