Many people believe that shopping for a young lady nearing adulthood is no easy feat, as it is a popular assumption that young women are a demanding demographic to shop for.  Whether this is true or not is neither here nor there, however.   Rest assured, shopping for girls between the ages of sixteen and eighteen is not as difficult as it may seem if you know what your options are.  The following are gift considerations for that special girl.

Gift Suggestions for Women Ages 16-18

1.  What does she like? 

If the young lady is a friend or close family member, then you should know what she enjoys.  By knowing what she enjoys, you are one step closer to getting her the perfect gift.  Simply get creative.  What is her favorite television show?  Get her a season of it on DVD if she doesn’t already have all the seasons.  Does she enjoy concerts?  Is her favorite singer going on a concert tour?  If so, get her two concert tickets (one for her, and one for a friend).  Does she love cooking?  Get her a cookbook!  Knowing what she likes, along with a bit of creativity is your best bet for getting her a present that she’ll love.

2.  What does she need? 

Most young ladies ages sixteen through eighteen are probably about to start college and live away from home for the first time.  Analyze what the girl you’re shopping for needs most.  If she is indeed starting college, it would be a really nice gesture to buy her college textbooks for her (or just one or two of them).  Textbooks are normally really expensive, and any college student would appreciate a gift like that.  Is she moving into her own apartment?  You could get her silverware for her kitchen, or help her with the decorations.  If you know her well, then you’ll also know what she needs.  Consider getting it for her as a gift!

3.  Jewelry:

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.  This is a famous expression for a reason.  No matter what age, women usually love jewelry.  Don’t let the word ‘diamonds’ scare you away from this option either.  You certainly do not have to get her diamonds (although if you have the money, and want to spend it, she most likely wouldn’t object…).  Sterling silver earrings would be a very nice, inexpensive gift option if you want to buy her jewelry.
