Holidays, cold weather, family, and no school; the winter is a great time to make those age old fun projects that have no expiration date and are sure to entertain the kids. This is fun, easy, and inexpensive, and all you need are some simple supplies to make a festival of winter fun for the kids and you. Here are just a few of many crafts that can be with some construction paper and imagination.

Reindeer

What is winter without reindeer? This is such a simple idea, and the kids love it because it’s all about them. For this you will need two pieces of brown construction paper, glue, markers, a pencil, and scissors. Trace the outline of your kid's shoe with the pencil onto the piece of brown construction paper. Cut out the traced foot shape, for the head of your reindeer, with the heel of the foot as the reindeers nose. Now, trace your kid’s hands on the other brown construction paper, make sure their fingers are spread out. Next, cut the hand shapes out, this will be the reindeer's antlers. Now, glue the reindeer's antlers to the top of your reindeer's head. Use the markers to make the eyes and nose for the reindeers face. Don’t forget the nose is on the heel portion.

Garlands

Paper chain garlands are something we can all remember working on as kids. They can be for anything from decorations to a count down till Christmas. For this you need construction paper and glue. First choose the color pattern that you want your garland chain to be. It can be a variety of colors, or all one color. Cut the construction paper into strips, they can be any size you want them to be. Small, thin chains or thick, chunky chains. Make a ring out of a piece of construction paper, glue the ends together and let it dry. Stick glue works well for this kind of project because it sticks faster. Slide the next paper strip through the center of the first ring, glue the ends together and let it dry. Continue to do this until your garland chain is at the length that you like.

Wreath

Those little hands make a precious memories, and creating a wreath out of them can be a lot of fun, too. It also looks great hanging on your front door or inside on the wall. For this you will need glue, a pencil, a paper plate or piece of white construction paper for the backing, a few pieces of green construction paper, one piece of red construction paper, and the hole punch and string for hanging. Cut the center out of a paper plate, use the outer ring for the wreath base. Trace your kids
