New Year's Eve in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a major event, and Las Vegas manages to break its own records each year, exceeding all expectations. This year will be no different, and Las Vegas will bid a very fond adieu to 2010, with several mega parties planned, and the entertainment line-up includes groups such as Van Halen and The Rolling Stones, Beyonce, Jay-z, and the Black Eyed Peas will also be performing. A fireworks display set to music will be " the largest display of fireworks the world has ever seen", according to the Grucchi Family, who is in charge of all the pyrotechnics this year. There are a quarter of a million visitors from around the world, here this weekend to ring in the New Year, "Las Vegas Style," and Mother Nature is exceeding all of her expectations also with twenty degree temperatures, shocking residents and tourists alike. Many tourists have come here this week expecting warm temperatures, and have left their winter coats at home, only to find frigid temperatures in Las Vegas, and the arctic air was sending them to the local malls to buy new winter coats to replace the ones left behind on purpose.

The weather hasn't frozen anyone's spirits; everyone is happily bundling up while preparing for the biggest party Las Vegas has ever thrown. The temperature on the Strip promises to be only 28 degrees on New Year's Eve, which will break all low temperature records ever set for this time of year. The current low temperature record for New Years Eve is a balmy 45 degrees, set back during the mid 1970's. The Grucchi Family has had the frigid weather work against them while their crew of 65 workers have been battling the elements since before Christmas, when they began the preparations for the fireworks on top of seven casinos on the Strip.

The City of Las Vegas gave the Grucchi Family a half million dollars to spend on fireworks alone, making this the largest fireworks display the world has ever seen. The Grucchi clan should know because they have their people all over the world in charge of the pyrotechnics there also that includes China.
Felix Grucchi told Fox 5 earlier today, that for every minute of fireworks, that took ten hours of work to display that one minute.

As a final note, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department would like to remind everyone that no glass containers will be allowed on any streets or sidewalks from 6 PM. New Year's Eve, thru 6 am., New Year's Day. They will also be enforcing a 9 p.m.curfew for anyone under 18 years of age.
