I guess this must be the end;
Oh yes, I saw the clues!
Your broken promises,
And vast, unconquered roads
Reflected in your blues.
You’ve made your bet,
I fold with best regards;
The hand that I’ve been dealt
Brings nothing to your house of cards.
And thus we part,
Tearing pages from our books of life
Forgetting reasons for
And length of our common plight.
I’ll leave you to your plans,
But don’t forget to note,
You never were
A lucky gambler, silly boy.

Looking back from this not so distant future,
the bed and its occupants glow -
all anger, distrust, and hurt
Final Parting...On Silver Wing...
We rode awhile on silver wings,
It was almost like a fantasy,
We lived and breathed each
