Music is one of the most powerful motivational tools in the known world. It has the power to create and invoke emotions on the human mind that can subsequently affect both the mood and the body in a variety of different ways. Music can inspire and motivate and it can also hinder. There are many ways that music affects your mood depending on the genre and the activity that you are undertaking.
Motivating and inspiring
No matter what you are doing, music has the power to help you succeed and get through it due to the fact that it is a very powerful means of invoking passion and motivation. If you are working out in the gym, listening to powerful and high-impact motivational songs such as “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor or “Push It to the Limit” from the “Scarface” soundtrack can help you get through the workout and achieve success. If you are in the workplace, listening to music can combat boredom, inspire you to do better and even contribute to your lust for getting more money. Music can motivate and inspire any activity if used correctly.
Relaxing and soothing
After a hard day’s work or a powerful workout when the only thing you want to do is relax and enjoy a nice, soothing night in, again, music is capable of allowing you to do just that. Enjoy a nice cold drink, light some candles and put on some soothing, relaxing songs and lose yourself in the newly created, music inspired aura of relaxation. Classic music is one of the best to relax to. Look for singers such as Connie Francis, Dean Martin, Andy Williams and Al Martino to create a beautiful, relaxing environment.
Depressing and sorrowful
Sadly, everyone comes into contact with a situation that makes them feel upset, sad or depressed. While trying to fight these feelings is a necessity as it helps to fight stress and anxiety that stems from them, ignoring them is out of the question. Music is again something that can aid in these situations when a good cry is necessary. Put on some sad songs of love loss and heartbreak and lose yourself in the beauty of the lyric. Look to such artists as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Toby Keith and Alan Jackson to help you shed a tear when the need to do so arises.
Music can be an outlet when it is both played and listened to and it truly can relate to absolutely any situation. If you find yourself trying to push out a brutal workout or get through a boring day at work, motivational and inspirational songs can help you in the same way they can when trying to set the relaxing, romantic and soothing mood and the way they can when you need to cry to get out anger or sadness from your mind. Never overlook the power of music when it comes to affecting your mood for the better.
