There are ways to get help with a Montessori education for your child, if that is the sort of schooling you desire, having looked around at other less child-centred kindergartens and nurseries. The first thing to do in getting help is to go to your computer and do a Google search for Montessori nurseries, Montessori education or even Montessori schools. Having located your nearest Montessori centre, you will then have to ask yourself some challenging questions in order to ascertain that such a centre is in the best interests of your child and that getting help to access it is the right way forward for your family.
For example, you may find that your nearest Montessori education center is many miles away. You may have to weigh up whether it is worth moving home in order to facilitate a shorter commute. Or you may wonder whether your child will mind a long car journey twice a day. Some pre-schoolers are great in the car, but others may have attention deficit disorder or just be susceptible to car-sickness. In either case, long journeys before the child even sits down to learn and to play are very wearing. Perhaps you will consider two full days rather than five half days - this can be a good compromise. Once you have identified your preferred Montessori school and organized the commute, you will want to check that you can afford the fees and the fuel or transport costs.
When budgeting for a Montessori education, it is worth checking out the childcare for differing groups of parents to see if your family qualifies for any help. For example, if you are a mom returner wishing to resume your career or retrain, then governments in some countries may have nursery provision and allowances to help with the cost. Run a check on Google for your state, county or country to see if such childcare schemes are up and running. These schemes may only apply to certain nurseries however, and your local Montessori may not be listed. It may be possible to argue ,however, if such a school is the only one in a community, that you need to use it. Depending on your commitment to the Montessori ethos, you might be prepared to move into that neighbourhood.
Another idea for getting help with a Montessori education is to ask your local centre if they have a payment plan facility. Some nurseries have special arrangements for families who are not in work or have low incomes. Of course, if you start early enough, for example when your child is born, you can start a school fees fund or government scheme at your bank, building society or other lender. Fees for your child's Montessori education can build up quite quickly and even accrue a little interest on the way. Whichever approach you decide to take, it is likely that you will find it is worth it. Maria Montessori is still held in high esteem in countries all around the world for her innovative and creative education legacy. If you start early enough, you can plan for a little help with your child's Montessori education fees.
