Reason took my Faith, at age eleven,
Like a thief, whose crime a soul disabled.
He said, “Friend, there is no hell or heaven;
Religion is a lie, spun and fabled.
How can anyone believe that God
Requires a craving recognition,
From a clapping sycophantic clod.
Jesus didn’t live a life to get a mention -
He wanted deeds." But as old age nears
A nagging doubt that he was wrong,
And that I was wrong for all these years,
Creeps in. I would prefer a God, to none.
But would He have me back, if Reason died.
Invisible with hope. A Faith revived.

I speak to God when I am angry,

Life lost in the shuffle
a deck of low cards
marked at birth.
Innocent on one side showing

You still should remain well clad
In the armor of strength and faith
In the battle with all
As I walked the beach the other day
Asked God why I’m feeling this way
What do you feel my precious child
No need to
