Leapfrog Baby Counting Pal
I got this toy for my daughter when she was 3 months old as she had started to take notice of different things and interact with toys and music.
*WHAT IS IT*
This is a soft toy that plays music when you press different buttons. It has hanging items so your baby can grab them when it is hung up in the cot and there is a handle so it is easy to carry. There are lots of different textures and features for your baby to explore.
*WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE*
It is a caterpillar and is made out of soft material. The caterpillar has a lovely smiling face that is very friendly looking. On the caterpillar there is a green hat and there are purple knots and taggies which are red and blue. These are great for your child to explore as they are different textures my daughter loves to put these in her mouth and chomp on them.
On the neck you can pick different functions and they are clearly marked in red circles. You can choose to turn the toy off or on here if you wish.
The body of the caterpillar has five different segments and each segment has a different colour and number. When you press each number it will sing different things depending on which setting you have chosen.
Each segment has something hanging from it. The back of the toy has toy straps which you can use to attach the toy to the cot.
*WHAT IT DOES*
This toy is good as a soft toy for your little one to cuddle and it is also good for your child to explore different textures and discover new things.
There are five segments and each has something hanging from it as I have previously mentioned. The first hanging toy is a picture of a bird and when you squeeze it, it will squeak like a bird chirping. The second segment is a picture of two bees and there is a rattle inside which makes a noise when you shake it. The next segment has three bees and is crinkly to touch. The forth segment has a plastic hanging bar that has four purple moving flowers that you can move about. The last segment has another rattle which sounds different than the others and has a picture of five ladybugs.
The toy teaches numbers and each segment has a different number on it and when you press the button it will play a song about that number.
You child will also learn about colours and again if you press the button there is songs about the colour. The same principle applies to the next function and that is classical music.
The last function is that you can play a musical melody and this will play all the classical music one after another.
*MY OPINION*
I really like this toy as it has lots of functions and it brightly coloured and nice to look at. My daughter loved to look at this toy when she was younger. Now my daughter is older she loves to explore the different textures and functions all by herself.
This toy cost me £9.50 which I feel is great value as it has lots of different features. It is a safe toy to leave attached to the cot and is a nice shape for your child to hold and play with. I did find that as my daughter got older she learnt to pull the caterpillar off the cot.
I would recommend this toy to anyone who has a young child as it is entertaining and keeps your child amused. I also feel that it is educational and your child can learn from playing with this toy.
I have to say that I like this toy and I don't mind the music that it plays in fact I even enjoy listen to the classical music as it can be rather soothing to listen to.
My daughter loves playing with this toy in fact at 7 months old I feel that it is one of her favourite toys.
